Meet Tazim Damji
Founder and CEO
Welcome to The Homesteading Survivalist! I live in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, with my two adorable rabbits, and Iโm passionate about empowering urban dwellers to embrace self-reliance, sustainability, and preparedness.
Mission
I help people build a steadier, more self-sufficient lifeโstarting with what they already have. From pantry prep to seasonal routines, I show how homesteading skills can grow in small spaces, one weekend at a time. No land required. No pressure to do it all at once. Just useful, doable readiness.
Why I Care About This
My journey into homesteading and preparedness began with a love for nature and a deep respect for the environment. Iโve always been drawn to the idea of living more sustainably and creating systems that work in harmony with the natural world.
This passion led me to earn a Permaculture Design Certificate and take advanced permaculture courses through Earth Activist Training with Starhawk, where I deepened my understanding of ecological design and sustainable living practices. I also volunteered with the Wild Bird Trust, working in their native plant nursery and helping maintain trailsโan experience that reinforced the importance of supporting biodiversity in all spaces, even urban ones.
Iโm also a certified Gardenary Garden Consultant, specializing in designing functional, beautiful garden systems that thrive in small spaces. This knowledge is the foundation of my mission: to help people like you grow food, build resilience, and thrive in urban environments.
